In a significant development, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency recently paid a courtesy visit to Major General Nosakhare Cyril Ugbo, the Chief of Civil Military Affairs (CCMA), at the Army Headquarters. Accompanied by a delegation, including Brigadier Generals B.P Kougham and B.S Keji, along with Lieutenant Colonel O Owodeji, discussions centered around fostering a strengthened civil-military relationship.

During the meeting, the Director General praised the Department of Civil-Military Affairs (DCMA) for its commendable efforts in enhancing civil-military relations over the years. Emphasizing the importance of a collaborative approach, he highlighted the necessity of partnering with CCMA to initiate nationwide programs focused on values reorientation and attitudinal change.

The Director General outlined key areas for potential collaboration, including the 7 for 7 Campaign, establishment of Citizen Brigades in secondary schools nationwide, development of a National Curriculum on Nationalism Study, nationalization of cartoons for values reorientation, and the CLHEEAN Community Project.

Recognizing the pivotal role of the DCMA as a bridge between the Nigerian Army and the Civil Populace, the Director General underscored the department's responsibility in promoting the fundamentals of Civil Military Affairs as a Strategic National Institution. The DCMA, charged with transmitting core elements of effective civil-military relations, has introduced various programs targeting youth to foster and nurture relationships between the people and the military. As Nigeria continues its journey of reorientation, the call for continuous and concerted efforts resonates for a country embodying positive values integrated into daily life.
